Lyme Regis boat building academy
I was a student at the BBA from September 2007 to June 2008. I attended the 'long course' which consisted of an eight week foundation course learning all about hand tool work and producing test peices before moving down to the main workshop and building the boats.
The school is situated on Monmouth beach in Lyme Regis and runs a range of short and long courses in woodworking and boat building.
The course was intensive and very 'hands on'. I very much enjoyed my time at the school and am fortunate to live local to Lyme Regis and therefore visit from time to time.

I spent time working on some of the boats as well as helping a colleague with her build of a strip planked sea kayak - the completed hull below.
