A pair of hallway storage benches

These were made to measure and so fit either side of an entrance hallway. Classic dovetail construction with hinged tops. They are made in ash with oak trim to the lids and are finished in tung oil.

Plaque mounts

These were ordered by the Masterchefs of Great Britain association. They are mahogany mounts and provide the backing for the plaques awarded by the guild to the best who qualify to join Masterchefs.

Bullrush sculptures

I also enjoy the artistic side of woodworking and believe that any peice of work (not just the purely artistic) should be attractive to the eye as well as functional.

These sculptures are made using boat building methods. The leaves are made in oak and are steam bent. The stems are also steamed and are made in rupalo, a walnut rush head tops each stem. The whole ensemble is held using copper nails and roves, used in traditional clinker built boats. They stand over six feet tall.

I have sold these through Dansel gallery at Abbotsbury and Yandles Gallery in Martock. They are available at Yandles 303 gallery and from myself.

Work bench

I made this for myself and is my main bench in the workshop. Made from beech and ash using twin tenons and with a two inch thick top, it is very solid.

Clinker section

This piece formed part of the boat building course I attended in Lyme Regis. It is a section of a clinker built hull with shaped oak floors, steamed timbers and mahogany planks. Mahogany on oak as they say, all copper nailed and roved.
