Ships Dresser
Made from ash, beech and Parana pine, this dresser was built for the tall sailing ship Pelican operating out of Weymouth. I also made the dining tables in beech to match the dresser as part of a refit of the messdeck. The dark strips on the drawer fronts are inlays of HMS Victory oak, a touch of nautical history to add a little interest.
Iroko front door
Made from two inch thick Iroko, a common boatbuilding timber useful due to its natural oil content and so well suited for exterior pieces such as doors and windows. Dressed in hand forged black ironwork and a traditional bullseye pane of glass. Attention had to be paid to the natural dark and light colouring of the wood, I decided on a uniform colour facing out with decorative stripe effect facing in. A very heavy and sturdy door.

Reproduction Georgian mouldings
I was asked to replicate two hundred and fifty metres of Georgian mouldings as part of a room refurbishment in a large country house. The larger centre rail was made in softwood, the panel mouldings in mdf. The lower pictures show the mouldings being fitted.
Cabin bunk bed
A cabin style bed made from prime oak and high grade west African Paduak, a very dense wood used in fine furniture. The legs and trim are in Paduak, the slats and planks are in oak with a carved mouse figure which sits on the ladder. The bed has been finished in Tung oil and clear wax. It has been designed to be broken down for ease of relocation. Very solid mortice and tenon construction.
