My name is Simon Shard and I run a capable workshop in Crewkerne. My business is bespoke joinery, custom made pieces, reproduction or unique designs.

Before setting up my workshop, I spent fifteen years in the Royal Navy as an aircraft mechanic. I re-trained in 2007 as a boat builder at the Lyme Regis boat building academy and was awarded a pass with distinction upon completion of the ten month course.

I have transferred the boatbuilding skills into all aspects of woodworking and can work in any material from hardwoods to mdf according to suitability and cost effectiveness. I can assist with any design and enjoy working with unusual and one-off projects.

I work to a very high standard and always hand pick all my timber. I thoroughly consider all aspects of the work such as design, stability of materials, final environment and seasoning, and suitability of finishes such as oils & waxes to be used.
